For those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Brian Kirmil, his immediate impact on others was unmistakable. Beyond his deep voice and welcoming smile lay a heart of gold. If Mr. Kirmil knew you, he cared about you, and he ensured you felt that care. Brian devoted his life to the education of children, aiding others, and nurturing an unwavering love for his family, community, and music.
Commencing his career as a special educator in Danbury and New Milford, Brian later realized his dream as the principal at Rockwell Elementary School in Bethel, where he served for nearly two decades. In this role, he connected with and inspired countless students, staff, and families. Mr. Kirmil prioritized the holistic development of his students, fostering not only academic success but, more importantly, the development of good character. Consistently exemplifying kindness, citizenship, and effort, he expected the same from those around him. Each morning, he personally greeted every student by name, emphasizing his commitment to relationship building.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by April 28.
Dedicated to instilling a sense of worth and potential in others, Mr. Kirmil worked tirelessly to build trust and compassion with children and their families. Offering words of praise and gentle advice, he was actively involved in making Rockwell a vibrant and special place. Whether engaging kids in morning announcements, organizing contests, or infusing his musical talent into school activities, Brian's commitment to others was evident. His presence at various events, from assemblies to costume parades to talent shows, showcased his belief that showing up repeatedly demonstrated care and importance, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Brian's lifelong dedication to serving others is commemorated through the scholarship in his name. This scholarship, awarded to a Bethel High School graduate, aims to support someone with similar aspirations of making the world a better place. It is specifically intended for a student who has participated in the arts while in the Bethel Public School District, someone committed to utilizing their talent for the betterment of others. Your consideration in donating to the Brian Kirmil Arts Scholarship Fund would honor a remarkable leader who transformed Rockwell Elementary School into a haven of love, learning, and kindness. Brian's contributions, both to individuals and the community, undeniably made the world a better place. In his memory, the scholarship will empower a Bethel student to pursue their dream of creating positive change.
