Q What is the BEF?
A The BEF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with a mission to promote innovation, creativity and excellence in learning for the Bethel community. It was
founded in 2004 by a group of parents
and educators who shared a common priority — public and private education in
the town of Bethel.
Q How does the Foundation raise money?
A The Foundation solicits the contributions of individuals and businesses, local and national. If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution, including a matching gift from your company, click here for more information.
Q What kinds of programs are considered for funding?
A We review programs, projects and purchases that are outside the scope of either school or town budgets. We look to support teacher and administrator ideas from any Bethel school that meet our objectives of innovation, creativity and excellence.
Q What is the process for consideration?
A Visit grant requests link to obtain an application. Applications must be mailed to the BEF at PO Box 92, Bethel, CT 06801. Ideas meeting the review of the grant subcommittee will be forwarded to the entire board for consideration.
Q How can an individual help?
A We always need volunteers to assist with specific projects particularly with our biggest fundraiser, the Barnum Ball. Please email us if you would like to be a volunteer. Another way, is to provide a tax-deductible contribution to the Annual Fund Drive. You can also recognize your children’s teachers through purchasing an Honor a Teacher certificate.
